The Madrid spend 20 million euros on Oracle software
An Anonymous Coward tells us: ” The Community of Madrid will spend 20 million euros over two years to purchase software licenses Oracle (databases, Weblogic, …) for the regional administration of the Community of Madrid and its corresponding manufacturer support. According to the news APISCAM approved spending now represents a significant increase over 3 million per year spent in previous years on Oracle software into the Community of Madrid. Surely, are of the utmost importance the application software for the Community of Madrid which has to support the Oracle (database and application server) software, but … is it justified for the volume of an Autonomous Community and Madrid such expenditures support base and proprietary software licenses? Could it really reduced the cost efficiency while maintaining-or incrementando- using the same need at least some free software and support for other (local te chnology companies, own equipment, etc)? The contract, like all regional administration of the Autonomous Community of Madrid, the computer manages its corporate body, the recently famous Informatics and Communications Agency of CAM, for having been implicated in the corruption of the Punic operation, arresting its Chief Executive Officer included. “
