Disney software that predicts what will a player
Disney Research has developed computer models to analyze various aspects of the game of basketball and football. And claim to be able to anticipate what will a player with a high success rate. Analytical sports continues to evolve and Disney study predicting the next action that a player will do, creating computer models of behavior of players. With data from over 600 basketball games the 2012-13 NBA season, constructed models ‘guessed’ if the player was going to happen or pull into the next action.
In another study, a professional football league, they collected more than 400 million data points to analyze the behavior of the team, rather than that of an individual player. And they showed their system could detect and display different patterns of play accurately, besides being able to detect a team for your playing style. This could serve to confirm the intuitions of coaches and tactical learning as a tool for players or analysis of rivals.
For the study authors analyze football is much more complicated. “In basketball, you have a lot of events and results every 24 seconds, which provides a lot of data points to assess individual game. Football is a popular sport for their low scores, so you need to understand the behaviors in the absence of goal. ”
