always thought that to make a basic calculator, and I mean build -not to simulate a program, it required more than basic electronic understand in addition to having to probably program in assembly, for the technical characteristics of the problem. Therefore, I liked it a lot to know about this project, combining hardware and software and also opens the possibility to understand more closely the performance of a calculator (which includes also a graphic mode).

Pierre Parent and Ael Gain made available for all the hardware design for anyone to build their own calculator. They were based on imx233 processor because this chip is easy to understand and use. In addition, there is a lot of documentation on it is in the public domain. All designs, including the printed circuit and CAD files for the enclosure are available for interested or curious, who wants to build their own calucladora.

The calculator software (and the software that was used to calculator design) is also free. The calculator runs Linux (exceeding that, rookies) and using a simulation environment Texas Instruments graphing calculators in their help to understand the whole system as a whole. The project is at the prototype stage but it looks promising.

In fact, the graphic display can even run games. So we might think we are in the presence of a super calculator do not
