GUADALAJARA (CNNExpansión) – The diesel models of the German carmaker Volkswagen (VW) are under review of emissions by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat) to see if they comply with national standards.
The company is under investigation for misuse of software on diesel vehicles sold in the US altering emissions to the environment.
The company works closely with the agency to meet emission levels, unveiled as part of the XVI edition of the Transport Anpact Expo 2015 to be held in this city.
“VW is working with Mexican authorities to establish which vehicles we sell in the country, comply with the current regulations,” said Giovanni Juárez, director of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Mexico.
This company markets the Crafter, Transporter and Amarok diesel engine models in the country. According to the Ministry of Economy 40,000 trucks were sold with software research between 2009 and 2015.
