A ‘software’ ultrafast for ‘Big Data’ – CCM

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology has created a software Big Data more efficient than humans.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) presented Machine Data Science , a parser of Big Data studying connections between network data to forecast trends and behaviors. The scientists involved in the project say the Machine Data Science is able to establish relationships between elements that people faster way. In addition, the forecasts made by the software are as accurate as human.

According to the newspaper El País, the program developers tested their invention in a competition against individuals. The software took two to twelve hours to collect and analyze data while teams of people employed between one and two months . In addition, the forecasts were made at the same level as those of the winning teams.

Its inventors have indicated that the Machine Data Science is an alternative system to identify the variables that are the basis for data collection. The intention is not to replace humans, but to help in their work. So far, the researchers have already received numerous offers from companies to have their services. To meet all the demand, the team has created the company FeatureLab, where handles requests.

A year ago, the same department at MIT was allied with Twitter to study Big Data of the social network.
