500,000 cars in VW, will not be enough to change the ‘software’ – FORTUNE

GERMANY (Notimex) – A total of 540,000 cars Volkswagen extensive technical changes needed to fix bugs affecting because of the software adulterated to measure emissions.

The Federal Bureau of Motor Vehicles, part of the Ministry of Transport of Germany, reported Monday on these changes, noting that those cars will not be enough to replace the software manipulated, but require major changes to the engine.

A total of 2.4 million cars in Germany Volkswagen will be called back to the shop from next January for repairs. The owners should be located and should be informed about the conditions offered to perform the repair.

Manipulation of the software are mainly diesel brands belonging to the Volkswagen consortium leaked to the public in September this year cars. The consortium estimates that the number of cars affected is around 11 million worldwide.

Manipulation of the software was made for those cars apparently complied with international standards on emissions for environmental protection. That way they would be highly competitive.

The reduction of emissions produced by cars is of great importance in the framework of the policy for the environment to reduce the gases that create the greenhouse effect and warming the Earth’s atmosphere.
