In order to combat the high incidence of overweight in the country, students of the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) created the Assistant Fitness and software Vital sign monitoring for people with this problem.
The virtual program assist people with obesity in implementing an exercise routine, previously supervised by a doctor or specialist.
students Jesus Hernandez Vargas and Isaac Garcia Reynoso of UPIITA (UPIITA) detailed above through a statement Polytechnic.
The creators of software engineering telematics explained that the system has a natural interface, through the Kinect device allows the person handling the application using their body movements.
The exercises in this routine were defined based on proposals of the National Commission of Physical Culture and Sport (CONADE), which were monitored by doctors of the National Polytechnic Institute.
The software features three indispensable elements: the Kinect device, which is programmed to detect body movements of the user; module that monitors heart rate heart pulses, and a computer that processes information received by the motion sensor.
This system is developed so that the Kinect sensor device detects the environment where the exercise, it can be a room or hall is made
The software includes four exercises. jogging, jump, move your feet alternately on the sides and movement body side, allowing joint care. Each routine lasts 40 minutes, 10 each.
When performing the exercises, the system display shows the person executing the movements, and if such activity is performed correct some of the indicators turn green and others remain red to serve as a benchmark. (With information from Notimex )
