The previous parliamentary elections on December 6 audits will resume today with the review of the voter (scheduled to run at the CNE Sheds located in the city of Guarenas) and revision of the software to be installed on voting machines (review to be held at the headquarters of the CNE located in Plaza Venezuela).

According to the protocols of the National Electoral Board (JNE) audit of the voter it is to verify that there are no discrepancies between Electoral Registry data (RE) 5 August audited and 40,601 voter lists to be used in the elections.

According to the parameters established by the electoral body the review is performed on a sample-taken random- equivalent to 1% of the printed voter lists for each of the 23 states and the Capital District.

Moreover, the sample of 1% of the notebooks reviewed by state data associated randomly to 10 identity cards for each voter list selected for this review. On average each voter list data are 480 voters.

Along with the audit of voter lists will be conducting the review of the software to be installed on the 40,601 voting machines to be used the December 6 (one machine per polling station).

According to the CNE audit manuals voting software “is the process by which the source code of the voting machine is reviewed allowing to verify the functionality running the application as electoral voting secrecy, authentication process, counting and transmission “

In this audit, according to explain the audit team of political parties is done” review and analysis design and implementation of software platform, applications, programming tools, encryption algorithms and data storage used by the voting machines for both the voting process and for configuration processes and production of voting machines “.

Audits production voting machines and pre-release (commonly called Error 0) electoral technicians check that the audited software is the one that was installed in the voting machines.

The audit of the software will start without the CNE directors have ruled on two technical requests made by the opposition parties: 1) Include among the audit review of the incident report authentication MACHINES election day and 2) Reduce the block stops the machine in cases where consecutive cases of voters whose fingerprints do not match biometric CNE files are detected.
