EU redesigned software for oral trials in Mexico; deferred delivery – El Financiero

MEXICO CITY In order to redesign the software programs, the US Embassy in Mexico postponed a plan to deliver computer systems help judicial reform in our country.

The embassy released reiterating its support and commitment to Mexico to transition to a new system of criminal justice that will allow judgments that are now closed and writing, become Oral , in a system that leaves the task of proving guilt to prosecutors. The constitutional reform of 2008 has yet to be implemented in much of the country.

The embassy said it agreed to reshape the computer equipment and software programs for judicial facilities in order to replace them with a new version “that will more efficiently, with greater coverage and flexibility”.

The assistance is part of the Merida Initiative, under which United States Mexico has given to 1,400 million dollars in equipment and training to seven years of its implementation.
