FRANKFURT, Germany (AFP) – The manufacturer Audi have admitted Monday 2.1 million vehicles equipped with the software from parent Volkswagen, designed to distort the controls of pollutant emissions from diesel engines.
About 1.4 million of these vehicles were intended for the European market, including 577,000 for Germany and 13,000 to the US market, Audi has confirmed a spokesman told AFP.
The engines affected correspond to high-end models such as sedans A1m A3, A4 and A6 and TT sports car and all-terrain Q3 and Q5.
Volkswagen, which owns 12 brands of vehicles, admitted last week have mounted engines rigged in 11 million cars, causing a collapse of their stock, resignations and a barrage of lawsuits against .
