Schneider Electric buys InStep Software – ChannelBiz

Schneider Electric , a global specialist in energy management and energy efficiency, announced the purchase InStep Software , a developer of management software and real-time performance predictive analysis. It is expected that the transaction, whose financial details were not disclosed and subject to customary legislative conditions, to close in the fourth quarter of 2014.

Established in 1995, InStep has two software products highly recognized by market. One is eDNA, that collects, stores, analyzes, displays and reports sensor data and equipment in real time and PRiSM, of predictive analytics software that monitors in real time the status and performance of critical assets using advanced pattern recognition and diagnostic techniques to identify subtle deviations in operating performance that are often an early warning of impending failures. The company also offers a power management software called EBS , which helps universities reduce costs by analyzing the energy consumption, billing and cost allocation reporting these processes.

From Schneider Electric eDNA ensure that the software is a powerful complement to the Wonderware Historian software of Schneider Electric, and PRiSM “strengthens and improves information and offers asset management software company.”

To Rob McGreevy, vice president of Information, Operations and Asset Management Schneider Electric, InStep solutions “provide us with a stronger management of data and predictive analytics capabilities in the power and energy industry, including transmission and distribution, will help us achieve our strategic plans for Big Data, the Internet of Things and other emerging trends. “

InStep Software will continue to run for its current management team, 70 employees including about Schneider Electric for operations in the United States
