Teatreneu club, a comedy club located in Barcelona, is using a new method to decide how much to charge to attendees. The idea is to offer fair prices, so if you’re not having fun, you leave without paying. This is a project that has been possible to develop thanks to the collaboration of advertising agency The Cyranos McCann and software face detection.
To achieve this, iPads are installed on the back of each seat, equipped with an application of face recognition known as Pay per Laugh, and using its front camera will be able to detect when viewers laugh. This makes it possible to ensure that charges for laughs, so if the show is not funny, this will be reflected in the account. The fare is 0.30 euros for every laugh, even if the account will never exceed a maximum of 24 euros. This means that when you’ve laughed 80 times, the rest of the laughs are free. Apparently, this system began to be used as part of an experiment to see if saw increased attendance. In addition to achieve this, it was found that the average ticket price rose six local euros. installed on every iPad application has the ability to complete the payment without even getting out of the chair, and to check each of our registered share laughter and social networks.
No doubt it is an idea that has proved so successful that is already being implemented in many other similar premises. Then we leave you with a video of the project:
