Taxes in Colombia for computers cellular technology … – ElTiempo.com

A tax is a burden, according to the dictionary. A tax obligation that we must pay to have or enjoy something. And in our country they are paid many of those charges. According to the World Bank, Colombia is the sixth country in the world to tax their business , with a tax rate of 70 percent on their income.

And they are not just national. The department also there, in the most disparate and arbitrary. Stamps, patents, valuations, capital gains, fees, surcharges, charities, exemptions, deductions, contributions, in short, a wide variety of names and denominations have all those taxes for certain sectors of the national business.

Clearly no question that the proper use and investment of these taxes are reversed into benefits for people. But taxing on development sectors, in excess, is a high risk. For example in Barranquilla this year citizens will pay more for using their mobile, through the work of one of those additional regional charges.

This newspaper revealed that the Committee of Experts for Tax Equity and Competitiveness recommended to Minhacienda retornarle VAT to PC; also tablets, both with 10 percent. Colombia no longer be the world such as one of the countries with prices in both products more affordable for people.
Also has recommended taxing the internet service for households at levels 1, 2 and 3 , with the same tax of 10 percent.

sale and rental software, which by the way would be a talanquera for sectors such as application development and cloud services would also have a regular tax 16 or 19, depending on how the rate increase. Forget the ‘experts’ to punish those items is put reverse the motor development of ICT. Or at least leave it in neutral

A mobile, for example, is not a luxury is for many their tool..; study, a key part of the development of his personality.

Developing software is not a luxury. is a serious path to prosperity for young people without access to a university and the basis for the creation of enterprise, sustainable jobs for the regions. The Internet in homes needy is not a luxury. is a path to equality and the democratization of information and culture.

Tough task has MinTIC. Fortunately he has made it clear, publicly and privately, that will fight that fight to keep these recommendations are welcome. It is also time for the sector unions pool their forces.

This is not just to avoid paying the extra burden for those products and services. To avoid creating more complex ICT business (what is now); phenomena such as the theft of cellular, smuggling, software piracy and culture of informality , take greater strength.

What do you think? Thanks for your comments. Happy 2016!
