Mexican creates software to detect emotions – The Economist

The marketing industry is in full revolution thanks to the advancement of science, and Dr. computer, Enrique León Villeda, Mexican living in Spain, is responsible for a substantial part of this revolution, since developed a software that reads real-time emotions a person experiences against different products.

The algorithm created by Leon Villeda , member of the Talent Network Chapter Spain, measured heart rate and transfers the information via Bluetooth to a mobile phone or computer, where real-time emotion is determined.

“When we experience an emotion affects the way you act and the way we relate to our surroundings. When shopping we decide which brands or products we take home; this decision we made through the advertising that reaches TV (and other media) images of different products from different companies, “says the expert.

Multiple applications

Enrique León Villeda has 11 years of experience in detecting emotions and has studied in different cities. In England, as part of his PhD in Affective Computing, designed a vest that determined the emotions in relation to the conditions of light and temperature.
