Free software is gaining among smartphones # MWC2015 – The Universal

The segment of smartphones is much wider than we can imagine, not everything is reduced to Android, iOS and Windows. At the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2015) to be held in Barcelona Spain, Ubuntu, an operating system based on Linux and distributed as free software made its debut as the heart of smartphones Chinese and Spanish origin.

Prior versions had shown only for tablets. The models shown are the Aquarius E4, the Spanish, BQ and Meizu MX4. While the former is a mid-range device, the second points to the Premium consumers in materials, design and features.

One of the main features of Ubuntu for mobile are the Scopes or individual screens. These allow quick access to the functions of social networking, playing music and videos, calendar, etc. The proposal, as in other devices, is that the user you navigate between functions sliding your fingers on the screen, without having to press buttons.

However, the main problem facing this proposal, is the limited availability of applications. This circumstance is essential today as it has defined that despite the existence of multiple operating systems, basically all boils down to two choices.

However, a point in its favor is that it is a great platform for developers who could quickly nourish the need for apps by users.
