The year that we are about to finish has been a period of great change in the landscape of the applications ‘core’ and software that companies use to daily, some of which with an added promise that promises significant impacts.
The year 2015 has brought the emergence of five trends that are changing the way companies use their applications to improve processes.
1.-at work and at home
If we compare today’s software tools with those that we used only one or two years ago, we see a noticeable difference: the user experience. The software incorporates today with increasing frequency ideas and features from the world-particularly consumption of smartphones and mobile- computing. The interfaces are incredibly more attractive, the most pervasive social capabilities mimic interactions with those with which the user feels more comfortable, and where absolutely everything is capable of mobility.
2. Analytics at all
Another popular component that was not here before is the analytical data. One type of skills that have been democratized, and against which business users have the sole alternative choose to perform an IT application or steal some time to some experienced analyst. Instead, the data analytics tools have reached the corporate world to provide the power to break up the information and provide data of interest to business development. One area of great potential for companies is not without some potential dangers.
3. Beyond big data
Speaking of data, even these have changed radically, which is forcing further changes in the world of business software. Data meant once numbers as individual units arranged in a relational database; But now, the data have left the box. We do only big data but have qualitative data, unstructured data, streaming data … and are fundamental changes in our databases and in how we approach the data to gain insight.
4. Think about (the Internet) things
Speaking of streaming data, there is a major supplier of this type of data that the deployment of IoT. The corporate software development companies are increasing application development in order to accommodate the continued flow of IoT data to make them accessible to analytic processes.
5. The machine learning
The term ‘machine learning’ is becoming popular at top speed and even more in the field of enterprise software. The company Workday has begun work on enriching the software tools that companies use new learning capabilities and, certainly, next year will see IT developments in this field. Some developments are not yet up to Ex Machina, but closer than we can imagine. We’ll see what 2016 brings again in this regard.
