The software I use every day to work and be more productive – Hypertext

For me, the computer has always been a tool, but especially leisure. I applied a lot of learning on the internet to my life, and ultimately everything is connected, then work writing this and many other items. I feel that to do so, we need to have a workflow that, along with other personal decisions, enable being productive. So today I will explain, as Gabriela and Nasheli, all the software I use to work , and any other thing.

The operating system

Mac OS X Antonio

Since childhood I used Mac OS and Windows mainly, with some very brief foray into Linux. Recently I changed my computer, looking for one that offered me very good screen and good autonomy, so I opted for a Macbook Pro Retina. With it, my headend is Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite , the latest available. I also use Windows 8.1 on a partition, for the few times that I need to perform some task incompatible with OS X. The truth is that it is a configuration with which I feel very comfortable, and I many looking forward to Windows 10 because I love the news . Within my software to work, I think the OS is always one of the most important elections.

 OnePlus One CM12S 1

Moreover, also write from an iPad Air 2 and an external keyboard . As a personal mobile, I have the media OnePlus One in its 64GB version, one of the best terminals in value.

Web Browser

My favorite browser always Firefox , since birth. I loved the extensions, eyelash your system and speed offered at that time. But it began to stagnate, and reached Chrome , which improved many things in Firefox. However, OS X Safari optimizing both performance and consumption is so superior to the alternatives, I can not recommend another . There is much support for extensions such as Chrome, but I need, I have them.

  • Buffer . As my colleague Gabriela also use Buffer to schedule publications on social networks, both from my personal account as of Hypertextual. Really useful to separate into sections bonds we share.
  • Push to Kindle . Normally used to read articles Pocket later, but when very long reading, I use the Kindle. With this extension I do something similar to sending a Pocket.
  • Awesome Screenshot . Throughout the week I need to capture full screen at some sites, and there is nothing better than this extension for it.

Applications script to work

Ulysses

In OS X using two writing applications with support for Markdown. The first is Ulysses , the most advanced Mac. Thanks to its high burden of functionality and how it allows you to organize the posts in his library, is the editor I use to more elaborate posts . For quick things, I use Byword, I take advantage of its connection to the iPad to follow where he was writing and not lose anything. They are two very great options, depending on the need. They will not disappoint

System Utilities

 Moom unclutter

I believe that as is OS X Yosemite series, I’m not too productive against what I become, in areas such as window management or organization of screenshots.

  • Moom . In Windows 7 I love the way he implemented to adjust the windows to the sides to resize. Moom gives me that and more, as assigned to positions that run windows with keyboard shortcuts. There are alternatives, but none as advanced as Moom.
  • HyperDock . Another extremely useful to replicate Windows functions. With Hyperdock I can see what windows I have open when you mouse over the application icon in the Dock . As I minimize windows icon is essential.
  • Unclutter . Unclutter is a utility that hides in the top bar of the system and that expando with a gesture on the trackpad. Divided into three drawers, monitors the clipboard, allows quick annotations, and what is most important to me, host files . Any screenshot I do, will stop there, as well as any photo you drag from the browser. It allows me to have the desktop always clean .

Other tools and organization

 Pindroid.

Pindroid.

day to day work, usually keep many links that, unlike what is going to Pocket, I have good organized with keywords and tags to find better in the future . Therefore, I use Pinboard, the best bookmarking tool out there. From the Mac I access with Spillo, from the iPad with Pinner, and from the OnePlus with Pindroid.

For notes and to whet lists of books, series and music for listening use or rather, Evernote underused because your chances are much greater. Stresses its multiplatform support.

As task manager, using Wunderlist, until I discovered that Todoist is much more powerful and better synchronized. We will soon post talking about it, because it is a gem. For a workgroup, our elected in Hypertext is the wonderful Trello, in which only I miss desktop client.

As a tool for instant communication group, as best we know Hypertext is Slack, who dethroned the old HipChat. With Slack we are much more productive and organized (highlighting its integration with services like Trello), and when we do not want to be, there are always resources for leisure.

Finally, my application to manage the mail is Airmail 2, for my use (simple) E-Mail me very comfortable, and better than Mail, integrated in the system.

Leisure and personal communication

Radiant, the client for Google Play Music.

Radiant, the client for Google Play Music.

When I’m not working with your computer, ground be enjoying music or playing multimedia content such as movies or series.

My application for music is Radiant, a desktop client with which I reproduce all the music that I rise to Google Play Music , a free service that lets you upload up to 50,000 songs, and best, you can always download them again. For certain NetEase also use Cloud Music, Chinese Spotify.

To organize my series and movies downloaded and play on the Chromecast, I use Plex. In OS X I have installed and served from OnePlus and iPad visualize and shipping Chromecast. It is not the best solution, but it is very convenient and economical.

Finally, I will talk about my courier. The most use now is Telegram , not by going against the current, but because I love their functions, like having great desktop client to log on many terminals and to send full size files , without compression. Recently, I am starting to use WhatsApp Web at home, for what not having to use your mobile for nothing. Not as good as the service Telegram, but birthday, which is something .
