A few days ago Gabriela surprised us with an excellent article that recounted the main applications who used to work daily. Article which certainly encouraged the rest of colleagues who collaborate in Hypertext to take the initiative to talk about the software that we also use, very personal way.
Well, today I have decided accept challenge and came briefly platicarles me what has worked for me. This list includes most of the tools that I have installed and that, basically, are what I use every day to write the texts published here . I hope you enjoy reading and that one of them can really help.
OS

I a dell laptop with Windows 7 Ultimate installed, although the operating system I use most is currently Elementary OS in the “Luna” version. Depending on the task you need to perform or application need to try it as I go moving between Windows and Linux. The truth is that ever I adapted well to change to Windows 8 and due to the problems faced by the portable partner with that OS I decided it was not a good idea to update.
Spending most of the time was working from a laptop is not an easy thing and what I buy the desktop computer I want, I decided it was a good idea to me wireless keyboard and mouse . I have a iPod Touch 4th generation with iOS 6.1.6 and tablet with Android Jelly Bean that work well for almost anything, especially when I have to work from another location .
Browser
Despite the benefits of Firefox, my default web browser is Google Chrome . I have installed both and use them for specific things, however I have saved my precious Chrome bookmarks and all browsing history. When I have to work on another computer, well I can log on and Chrome as if working from the comfort of my home, plus I have to create additional accounts to sync all my settings.
My Chrome has Extensions to help me work more efficiently. Some of them are:
- Checker Plus for Gmail notifying me every time I have a new email and lets me answer them directly without opening a new tab in the browser.
- Google Translator helps me translate entire web pages or specific words by simply selecting the text.
- Hello , a service Free Proxy and VPN that allows you to skip some restrictions for blocked content in your country.
- Notifier for Twitter to show tweets, DM’s and mentions instantly on the computer desktop, even if I do not open the Twitter page.
- options Tab showing me a nice picture every time I open a new tab in Chrome.
Text Editors
Remarkable helping me write this post
When working from laptop I often use Remarkable and text editor in Linux because it supports markdown and has a very simple and intuitive interface. It’s free and features Live Preview in a second panel to preview the changes to be doing.
When I’m on the tablet I use Writeily Pro , which like Remarkable supports markdown and has design Material Design.
Image Editors
Gimp working
usually I usually prefer the free and open source tools . When I need to edit a picture or make a mockup I do not need sophisticated programs like Photoshop or Illustrator with Gimp is enough for me to realize what my job requires me.
Occasionally also use PicMonkey , online image editor which has interesting features and allows you to edit, retouch, design or make fun collages.
Music
Listening to music from Grooveshark from Nuvola Player
Who does not like music? I think the answer is everyone. And when I want to do I just need to open my Nuvola Player and start enjoying the best music. My favorite service to use is Grooveshark , because with it I can hear all the music you want uncut and commercial. Your web version also has a renewed and beautiful design. Some of my favorite transmissions that help me concentrate and work are better Work Study / Smoke and Instrumental Chill FM.
In Youtube can also listen to good music and it can install Streamus , an extension for Chrome that allows you to search, listen and create playlists from Youtube
Messaging
The team Hypertext keeps in touch thanks to Slack is a program through which we share the most relevant news, organized content and occasionally used to share a little more personal interests.
communication with the rest of the world use Telegram , IM client secure and robust . Its interface is very clean and has desktop client. Honestly I prefer well above Whatsapp.
