Jorge Herrera denies buying spyware – El Siglo de Torreón

The governor of Durango, Jorge Herrera Caldera, denied that his government has purchased software for purposes of espionage, outside the interest of public safety.

Concretely, the governor said never to have entered into a contract of this nature, in the same way it rejected the accusations that were announced last year.

According to the report of the Digital Rights Chilean organization, the government of Durango paid 421,000 euros for spyware, which for Herrera Caldera is “totally false”.
