To increase the female human capital and advanced in the IT industry in a short period of time, is that Corfo, Duoc UC and Kodea Foundation launched the first training class of 75 women and training in software programming.
The program, which is aimed at Chilean or foreign women with permanent residence, between 25 and 40 years, lasts 5 months and allow them to enter more tools and knowledge to the world of IT industry employment .
The 75 selected women are, mostly, to the Metropolitan Region and communes as Macul, San Miguel, San Joaquin, Conchalí, El Bosque, La Cisterna and San Ramon, between other. More than half of them has a job, and 28% said the main challenge of participating in this program will reconcile the study with their children.

Ricardo Paredes, president of Duoc UC, emphasized the importance of training properly in this matter, because “the work in computer and iT world in general, pose challenges that are now in vogue, and also allow you to tailor times a good way the other work interests, studies and tasks “.
The rector also said that today women are more present and interested in this area, and that the duty of a Professional Institute as Duoc UC is to join with the public world to contribute in this increase.
Latin America currently accounts for only 2% of world investment Software, and while there are some organizations related to women and incipient technology, there is none who really has influence. There is also a great shortage of professionals in this area and this is that there is a minimum female participation.
According to the Organization of the United Nations Educational and Diversification, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Chile, the rate of graduates in computer science is less than 8% and the labor market there is less than 4% of women.
This program will feature a 270-hour training software programming skills distributed within a maximum of 5 months, Duoc UC rooms.
The training is divided into four modules: programming algorithms, object-oriented, Java programming and .NET programming paradigm.
