The Latin American Festival of Free Software (FLISoL) is the broadcast event free software largest in Latin America, aimed at all audiences and performed simultaneously in 20 countries. This year, for the first time the event was held outside Asuncion, centering on the city of Caacupe, called the first digital city in Paraguay and pole of technological development that brought together more than 100 young people from the area.
“This event began 12 years ago and now, is developed simultaneously in 20 countries, and in Paraguay for 7 years. We are delighted by this great acceptance of the youth of this city, “said Patricia Escauriza, manager of Paraguay Educa, organizer of the event.
He said the meeting provided the possibility of installing different distributions Free software at no cost and fully legal way, with professionals available to it throughout the event. Interested participants brought their own computer, where they could install the distribution that most interested them, including the most requested were Ka’a Linux, Ubuntu 16.04 and Fedora 24.
