MINCETUR: TPP will benefit Peruvian producers of software and … – Daily Management

The Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement ( PPT ) through the chapter on Electronic Commerce, will help Peruvian companies marketing their products through electronic means, reducing costs and increasing competitiveness.

In this chapter the PPT will benefit Peruvian producers of software and applications, as well as service providers cloudcomputing (cloud computing), to assure a framework to operate without restrictions and offer their services via the Internet, he said the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur)

“The trade has entered a digital era and Peru is part of it. PPT will open a window to new opportunities for Peruvian exporters of goods and services, which will particularly benefit the Peruvian offer important applications and digital products ” said Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Magali Silva

An example of these opportunities are opening for SMEs and entrepreneurs in general who are dedicated to developing applications and games for mobile phones or tablets, who may market their products in 11 countries PPT without restrictions.

On the other hand, Chapter on Electronic Commerce establishes a framework for long-term cooperation between the participating countries in order to promote the exchange of information related to the development of policies that encourage the use of e-commerce experience.

“The important cooperation framework that creates the PPT on electronic commerce allow us to work to increase public confidence in e-commerce, “he said.

“This will not only achieve that Peruvian producers feel more secure, but also will encourage our companies to use electronic means to increase the efficiency of its activities,” he concluded the minister.

It should be noted that, according to figures from the Association of Banks of Peru ( Asbanc ), Peru registered a rapid growth in e-commerce.

So, between 2012 and 2014, the number of transactions with credit cards in online stores or electronic stores increased 89% from 2.2 to 4.1 million.

However, more important it is the jump registered in the total amount braided between those same years, which rose 180%, from S /. 2,100 million to S /. 5,900 million.
