If universities are to be the environment and the breeding ground for leaving the minds better prepared to be a guarantee for the advancement of our societies, it is logical that in such an environment should become familiar with free software like engine technological development. As a result, the Rusl is produced every year, the Ranking of Universities Free Software to Spain and Latin America, and already have the Rusl 2015.

  • 1st. The University of Granada . For the fourth consecutive year, with 100% implementation.

  • 2nd. The University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria . Post a position with 65.8% implementation, and is the third most improved since 2014.

  • 3rd. The University of La Laguna . Drops a place with 62.25% implementation, and which has the third Free Software Office more active.

  • 4th. The Miguel Hernández University of Elche . Add three seats with 58.63% implementation. It is the most improved since 2014, which has the Office of Free Software more active and committed 100% to teaching in such technology. It is Spanish that stands out more clearly in this ranking.

  • 5th. The University of Zaragoza . Post a position with 47.74% implementation. It is the fourth most improved since 2014 and has the second Office of Free Software more active.

  • 6th. The Universidade da Coruña . Falls two spots with 46.02% implementation, and is committed to 59% with teaching in free software.

  • 7th. The University of Seville . Falls two spots with 34.64% implementation. It’s the one with the Office of Free Software fourth most active and committed to 66.4% with teaching in the technology.

  • 8th. The University of Santiago de Compostela . It stays in place with 34.45% implementation.

  • 9th. The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya . Add three seats with 32.78% implementation, and is the fifth most improved since 2014

  • 10th. The Universidade de Vigo . It stays in place with 29.25% implementation.

University of Cádiz is dropped from the top ten, going from tenth to twelfth place; University of Alicante is the second most improved since 2014 and is committed to 99% with teaching free software; University of Cordoba is the one with the Free Software Office fifth most active; and Universitat Oberta de Catalunya is committed to 63.4% with teaching in free software.

  • 1st. The University of Costa Rica . With 100% penetration. It is the second most committed to the dissemination of free software and of the three that makes more use of open technologies.

  • 2nd. The National University of La Plata . With a 63.86% penetration, it is the most committed to the dissemination of free software, which is the 87.3% with teaching in such technology and the three most use made of open technologies.

  • 3rd. The Universidad Francisco Marroquín . With a 54.26% implementation. It is the most outstanding in the production of free software and the fifth most committed to the dissemination of the technology.

  • 4th. The University Republic. Add three seats with 44.44% implementation. It is the fourth most committed to the dissemination of free software, it is 100% with teaching in free software and is three more use made of open technologies.

  • 5th. The National University of Cordoba . With a 39.47% implementation. It is the third most committed to the dissemination of free software and is committed to 75.1% with teaching in the technology.

  • 6th. The Catholic University Our Lady of the Assumption . With a 31.66% implementation, and is committed to 75.1% with teaching in free software

Universidad del Valle de Guatemala is the third most outstanding in the production of free software, Pontifical Catholic University of Peru is the fourth most striking in the same and the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico is the fifth.
